Since switching my boys to Wellness cat food a while back, we have developed some serious issues. Specifically, Gizmo has developed a condition referred to as Floof.
Exhibit A:
Clearly, a serious issue. I cannot seem to keep my hands out of the Floof. Thankfully, he does not seem to mind a bit, even when I ruffle the Floof, point to the Floof, scritch the Floof or otherwise call attention to the Floof. I love the Floof.
As for the attitude (refer to the area just above the chin floof), that does not appear to be a result of the Wellness. That’s been there from day 1. If someone comes up with a food for that, I’m all over it. Just as long as it maintains the Floof at current levels.

That’s the big, comfy Morehouse Merino sweater that I knit several years ago. I pulled it out and left it on the bed while I showered this morning. This is what I found. Actually, Tigger was fully curled up inside it – he only poked his head out when I woke him up. My guess is that he crawled in through the neck opening, since its a little bigger than when I wore it last.
He was NOT happy that I took it off him. Mine! Since when do I knit for Big Kitty?

We new something was amiss last night when we came home from dinner. Thumper came to the door as usual but there were no other cats in sight. The gang usually hangs out in the living room and greets us when we come home. We actually had to search the house for them. We found Jasmine first, hiding in a corner of the office. We found the rest of the gang hiding under the bed. They refused to come out, even when we put food out – making us worried that something was really wrong with them. Finally, this sheepishly crawled out from under the bed:
He was white when we left for dinner.
Filthy doesn’t begin to do him justice. For the life of us, we can’t figure out what they got into while we were gone. Nothing else was amiss. Its obvious that Gizmo was the primary culprit, between the filth and a bloody, broken toenail. I suspect that his antics scared the rest of the gang into hiding under the bed (except Thumper, who no doubt enjoyed his littermate’s situation). After a thorough inspection and a bit of first aid for the toenail, he got a bath. He’s fine, except for his dignity.
Not quite the romantic end for our Valentine’s Day that we had in mind…
