The Painted Sheep was established in 2007 by Kris Granatek. We offer handpainted yarn and spinning fiber. Our speciality is one of a kind colorways inspired by nature. Our current offerings include wool-blend yarns in a variety of weights, as well as blue-faced leicester (BFL), merino superwash, alpaca/merino/silk and merino/tencel rovings.
Kris Granatek is the woman behind The Painted Sheep. Kris is a fiber artist who knits, spins, felts and dyes. She learned to knit in the fall of 2000 and hasn’t stopped playing with fiber since! She started with a sweater and quickly moved on to knitting mittens, socks and other garments. Kris’ love of natural fibers and vibrant colors led her to spinning and later dyeing. She is pleased to bring her love of color to others through her handpainted yarn and roving.
The Painted Sheep is located in New Britain, Connecticut.
Please note that The Painted Sheep does not have an open studio or our own bricks and mortar shop. See the list of Retailers and Online Shops to purchase.
